Judge portrait Josef Pohling
Josef Pohling, born in 1952, lives together with his family in Giengen on Brenz. He is professionally acting as teacher.
He says, he cannot name special preferences, because there is a wide interest for many things; dogs are his major concern as well as nature and hunt. What he does not like at all, are schemers and fault-finders.
Mr. Pohling is no longer active in breeding, in the past he was breeding Bernese and Appenzeller Mountain Dog and maintaining Pomeranian and Dalmation. At present a Dachshund is living together with him.
Mr. Pohling judges since 1978 first of all Swiss Mountain Dog. Since 1999 he is all breed judge with focus on FCI groups 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7. For some breeds of FCI groups 1, 2, 6 and 9 he is special breed judge. He was judging in many countries, but in spite of several invitations he could not manage to judge overseas, because as teacher he is bound to school holidays and can accept invitations only then.
Mr. Pohling talks in German and English
